'I was punched by my dentist' says hypnotist

Self-help guru and hypnotist Paul McKenna has revealed that a deep rooted dental phobia had been caused by his dentist punching him.

Reported in Metro, McKenna detailed how, as a six-year-old patient, he was hit after accidentally biting his dentist.

When asked if he had ever been attacked by an animal, McKenna replied: "I was bitten by a dog but I was also punched by a dentist, which was more traumatic. I was only six. He was taking my tooth out and told me to bite on something he put in my mouth but I bit his finger by accident. He told me 'If you do that again I'll punch the rest of your f***ing teeth out' and hit me in the face. I ended up with a phobia of dentists, which I eventually cured with hypnosis."
